Part of the Damen Shipyards Group, Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam (DSR) is a leading ship repair and conversion yard in the Netherlands and one of the largest in Western Europe.
Centrally located in one of the major ports in the world, the Port of Rotterdam and with 320 employees, DSR operates two fully equipped yards with 10 graving and floating docks for vessels up to 160,000dwt and 2,100 m of repair quays.
Fully equipped and well maintained
Over the years DSR has been transformed into a service company with open communication and good management control at all levels of the organisation. Thanks to the fully equipped and well maintained facilities, combined with a large, highly skilled workforce, DSR services a wide range of customers from different markets and with all kinds of vessel types including offshore vessels, dredgers, tankers, renewable energy vessels, container ships, reefers and bulk carriers. Services are provided to a huge number of return customers, ranging from complete conversions to refits, repair and maintenance (both steel and mechanical works). Through its business unit Van Brink Rotterdam, DSR also offers in-port repairs and licensed services on a number of propulsion and seal systems.
Four repair yards into one new company
In January 2004 the Damen Shipyards Group restructured its four separate ship repair yards in the Port of Rotterdam into one new company, operating under the name of Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam. The four ship repair yards, which were part of Damen for various lengths of time, were Rotterdam United Dockyard, Niehuis & Van den Berg, Vlaardingen Oost Shiprepair and Van Brink Shipyard.

Customers also have the additional advantage of Rotterdam’s location that is at the heart of one of the largest maritime clusters in Europe, facilitating direct services from all the well-known makers and suppliers. DSR is continuously aiming to improve its service level using the ISO 9001:2008 certified management system and it is also ISO 14001:2004 certified.
