Damen Schelde Marine Services (DSMS) will move to a newly built warehouse and offices on the Souburg II business park in Vlissingen in mid-2026. In part as a result of two acquisitions, the Damen Shipyards Group subsidiary has got too big in the past year for its current Koningsweg site in Vlissingen.

The new building at the Louis Pasteurweg location will provide DSMS with a lot more space: there are just under 5,000 square metres of buildings on a site of more than 7,500 square metres. So the warehouse volume will increase by 66 percent compared to the current building and there will be about 50 percent more office space, which will now cover 730 square metres.

“We need the extra room,” explains Arnold Suykerbuyk, managing director of DSMS. “We have grown fast in recent years, not least as a result of the acquisitions of Ruysch International and 4 Stroke Diesel Parts. We expect even more growth in the future. So it’s good to have the space we need.”

Parts for engines

In the Damen Shipyards Group, DSMS specialises in supplying parts for the engines of ships and power plants. It serves more than sixty countries worldwide from the Vlissingen and Singapore branches, and from logistics hubs in, among other places, Busan in South Korea. In addition, the ’s Gravendeel facility provides engine maintenance and overhauls.

Maritime Logistics is also moving with the company to Souburg II. This DSMS unit handles general logistics for external and internal clients at Damen.

Damen Yachting

Some 35 employees work for DSMS in Vlissingen. They will all be moving with us to the new location. The family company Damen will continue to use the present Koningsweg location. Damen Yachting is also located here and they are happy to use the vacant space on ‘the Island’.

Construction work on the new building will start in October. The building was designed by UniQ architects and it will be built by J.P.G. Groeneweg Bouw.
