Damen Maritime Festival: 10th edition

We are very pleased to invite you to join us as we celebrate the tenth edition of the Damen Maritime Festival on 1 October.  

This milestone event will bring together colleagues from across the Damen Shipyards Group, together with our trusted industry partners, to explore the theme: ‘A decade anchored in trust, building the maritime future together’.

As usual, the event will bring industry stakeholders together for an open and informal exchange of ideas with plenty of opportunities to connect, explore and enjoy. This year, innovation will take centre stage, with a programme highlighting key sector developments such as autonomous sailing and circular shipbuilding.  

Keeping with tradition, there will be a number of Damen vessels on display. In line with this year’s focus on innovation, these will include an autonomous Fast Interceptor and a workboat constructed from fully recyclable, impact-resistant high-density polyethylene (HDPE). A number of electric and hybrid Waterbuses 2907 will also be present during the festival for guests to view and go aboard. 

New this edition, two inspiring keynote sessions on Autonomous Sailing and Circular Shipbuilding. These sessions will be held at 14:30 and 16:00. 

Other products will be on view via video or livestream, including the ZeaFalcon, a 7-metre Damen vessel equipped with an autonomy system developed by our partner, Zeabuz.  

We’ll also be showcasing a variety of vessel models. These will include a Combi Freighter (CF) and an ASD Tug 2713 Fuel Flexible (FF), both of which offer a number of propulsion options to help vessel operators lower emissions.  

Other models will showcase solutions such as our Damen Air Cavity System (DACS), an innovative air lubrication system that reduces resistance in the water to cut fuel consumption and emissions. 

And, of course, there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the festival atmosphere. You can test your shipbuilding skills in a LEGO shipbuilding competition, or get a flavour of the aquaculture industry at our mussel tasting experience.
