Sale of Damen Stan Tug 1606 to Poland

Used Damen Stan Tug 1606 delivered to WUŻ Port and Maritime Services in Poland

The sturdy and powerful small in 2019 by Damen built tugboat named “Nor Slep” was traded-in by Damen Trading from our Norwegian client Gerd Stensen AS from Leknes in Norway. This following Mr. Stensen’s purchase in June 2025 and delivery in September 2025 of a new, Damen Shoal Buster 2308, named “Havdønn”.

The ink of the trade-in contract was barely dry when, through our Damen Area Sales Manager, we learned that WUŻ Port and Maritime Services in Gdańsk, Poland, had already expressed interest in acquiring such a type of Damen STu 1606 tug. Thanks to our strong relationship with WUŻ, this quickly resulted in a sales agreement that also included the heavy lift transport of the “Nor Slep” from Norway’s Lofoten region to Gdańsk in Poland with a stopover in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Together with our Damen Services Heavy Lift Deliveries, VAT, and Operations teams we ensured the high quality handover our clients expect from Damen Trading. This handover, shown in the accompanying photograph, took place on 30 January 2026.

We look forward to seeing this tug, which will be now sailing under the name “MIŚ”, supporting operations throughout Gdańsk’s harbors and connected inland waterways under WUŻ ownership.
