Two Pilot Boats of the Dutch Pilot Association sold
We are pleased to announce that we have assisted with the sale of the two pilot boats Wulp and Reiger (built resp. 1978 and 1980) owned by the Dutch Pilot Association. Since we started our cooperation with the Dutch Pilot Boat Association in 2012 we have assisted in over ten vessel sales, resulting in a strong and confident relationship.
We started marketing Wulp and Reiger at the end of 2019 and despite their age we managed to sell them to a satisfied customer, Sima DTS, in Maassluis, the Netherlands. The delivery took place in July 2020, a bit later than expected, which was mainly caused by complications due to Covid-19. Nevertheless, the transaction went through resulting in two satisfied parties. Both ladies are a welcome asset to Sima’s fleet, as they will relieve their busy-as-ever crew transfer schedule, mostly working Dutch anchorages.
Nice to know: the (back then) innovative GRP hulls of these vessels were first used in tests with explosive depth-charges to verify the durability under extreme pressure, enabling the later build of the Belgian-French-Dutch ‘Tripartite’ navy minehunters, of which the hull was constructed in the same fashion (GRP sandwich).
