Creating concepts
At Damen Engineering Gdansk (DEGd), a specialised design and proposal team (D&P) works closely with our clients and our colleagues at the head office in the Netherlands to develop new and innovative vessel concepts.
The concepts we develop involve preparation of initial designs or evaluation of concepts as prepared by external designers. Depending of what is set, we create the vessel, select its equipment, check its performance and, finally, write it all down into a technical specification and coordinate drawing of illustrative arrangements.
Calculation for construction
For both our own and the external designs, our D&P team provides cost estimations and manages transition into the next engineering phases such as design check and basic design.
