Submarine Rescue Vessels
Damen Submarine Rescue Vessels (SRV) are ocean-going naval support vessels, capable of continuous day and night operations. They are able to facilitate crew rescue in the event of an incident t. They are characterised by a logical layout of accommodation, workshops and enclosed storage spaces in order to support a diverse range of activities.
A selection of tailor-made SRVs
The Vietnam People’s Navy required independent rescue capability to support its submarine fleet and reduce reliance on external assistance. The vessel needed to be able to operate in severe sea states, maintain precise position, and carry a NATO-approved Submarine Rescue Systems (NSRS) for its primary mission. hydrographic survey and oceanographic research (HSOR) capabilities were required for secondary roles.
Damen delivered a proven design with local build support, transferring know-how and ensuring compliance with classification standards.
