Buoy laying and maintenance

The UV 3911 for the Port Authority of Jamaica has been equipped with a package that optimises it for undertaking maintenance support operations at four cruise and three container/cargo terminals. One of the UV’s roles will be the laying and maintenance of buoys, so it has a DP system and a deck crane.

State-of-the-art and versatile

The Damen UV range offers versatile, state-of-the-art solutions capable of undertaking a wide range of duties both in- and offshore thanks to its extensive, unobstructed deck space and spacious accommodation catering for both crew and work teams. Up to 20 personnel can be comfortably accommodated.

Equipped for the job

Other equipment installed includes a 5-tonne A-frame, which is used to lift buoys, and a towing winch operated from the bridge with a pulling force of 10 tonnes at 10m/min. This, in combination with the 18-tonne bollard pull, also gives the vessel the capability of towing small objects.
