Cable Laying Vessels
Dedicated cable layers
In the coming years, we will see increasing construction of offshore wind farms in waters around the world. These projects are going to require significant volumes of cable. The Damen Cable Laying Vessel (CLV) series is a range of dedicated solutions, committed to supporting the renewable energy transition. These dedicated vessels combine proven technology with innovation for the efficient installation and repair of export, inter array and floating cables.
Forging connections
Sleek & slender for superior seakeeping
The sleek bow and slender hull of the CLVs offer sustained speed and excellent seakeeping, leading to reduced fuel consumption. The vessels are highly flexible in both transportation and installation, thanks for their extensive deck space.
Wide-ranging operability
The CLV is a versatile vessel, with options to install wide-ranging deck equipment and to store cable carousels above or below deck. The vessels can be installed with either DP2 or, for additional redundancy, DP3.

The cable layers boast a number of features to help boost efficiency. This includes a diesel electric hybrid propulsion system. The vessels are also prepared for conversion to alternative fuels in the future.
High comfort
Crew can expect a comfortable experience aboard the CLV. The slender hull minimises slamming. Meanwhile, accommodation is construction of high quality materials. Floating floors, insulated walls and perforated ceilings ensure low levels of noise.
Proof of concept
NOx Reduction Systems for Van Oord
Damen installs Marine NOx Reduction Systems on Van Oord’s Nexus. The retrofit with SCR tech cuts emissions by up to 80%. The project highlights strong synergy, sustainability, and efficient collaboration.
