Damen Shipyards invites members of the Bangladeshi maritime community to join its experts for the seminar to be held in the evening of 6th of March 2023 at the Amari hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh. There, local operators from the private and public sectors will have the opportunity to find out about the latest developments in workboat design and technology, and the local services and support that Damen has to offer.

The seminar will be opened by HE Mr Anne van Leeuwen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh, following which presentations will be made by Mr Rabien Bahadoer (Regional Sales Director Damen, area Asia Pacific), Mr René Sens (Senior Design & Proposal Engineer Damen), Mr Murshedul Islam (Regional Service Manager Damen) and a representative from Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Damen’s broad range of workboats and its latest innovations.

Damen has had an active presence in Bangladesh since the early 70’s and in that time has delivered various Tugboats, Multi Cat Crane Boats, High Speed Crew Vessels and Cutter Suction Dredgers, to both private and public sector operators. Dredging is particularly vital in the country that is the exit point of the river Ganges, the world’s third largest river. Two-thirds of its land area is less than five meters above sea level and in the years since the country’s independence in 1972, Damen has delivered a very  large number of Cutter Suction Dredgers. To keep its customers’ vessels well maintained, the local Damen Service Hub provides a wide range of services, including comprehensive lifecycle support packages as well as spare parts, training programs and 24/7 online support.

“We are very pleased to be holding this seminar in Bangladesh,” says Rabien Bahadoer, “It enables a valuable exchange of information and the insights we gain into our customers’ needs and expectations. We look forward to tightening the relationships with our stakeholders, meeting potential new customers and sharing our own experiences and ideas.”

Interested parties can register at Damen Bangladesh Workboat Seminar to express their interest for the seminar.
