A dredger for any dredging job
Cutter Suction Dredgers
Cutter Suction Dredgers
Each dredging job is different. The accessibility of the location, the type and depth of the soil to be removed – these and a great many other factors determine which dredger is the right one for your job. With a wide range of dredgers and many options available, dredge customisation ensures that the CSDs are ready for your job.
Dismountable dredgers reach any location
The CSDs have been designed to be fully dismountable. All components can be transported by truck or railway to reach all corners of the Earth, or the dredgers can be lifted as one unit: all to ensure your dredger is delivered to your project without hassle and without delay.

Optimised dredging operations

Breaking up compacted soils effectively

Powerful side wire winches

Ample power to operate all functions on board independently and simultaneously
Fit for purpose
The design of our CSDs is based on decades of dredging experience. We closely monitor our dredgers on the job, or on the road to their next job. Valuable operators’ feedback has been integrated in the dredge design. Let us introduce you to our Cutter Suction Dredger range, and you will see the designs fit the purpose of efficient dredging.
What is your dredging depth?
A large array of water bodies are to be dredged to the right depth, ranging from shallow water ones such as irrigation channels or cooling water ponds, to harbour quays and fairways to ports. Damen’s Cutter Suction Dredgers are used to remove sand or silt from a dredging depth ranging between -1 metre and -25 metres below the water surface.
In one sweep
Every stationary dredger works on two side anchors fore and one spud aft. As a result, a long dredger results in a wide swing. The wider the swing, the less time is lost in repositioning the dredger. That is why our Cutter Suction Dredgers all are designed with an impressive overall length. And what is more, adding an optional spud carriage pontoon increases the length and enables the operators to do their dredging job most efficiently.
Tough job
Dredging is a tough job. Therefore it needs equipment that is fit for purpose; designed to allow for the wear and tear that occur during dredging operations. The heavy duty design of the CSDs is obvious from the heavy gauge hull of all pontoons, the scantlings dimensioned well above class requirements, the sturdy coupling mechanism – all to ensure that these stationary dredgers are up to their job.
One power house
All CSDs are powered using computer-controlled Caterpillar diesel engines with low fuel consumption and low emissions. Moreover, plenty of power is installed to ensure that all functions can operate simultaneously. A high cutter power is provided to break up compacted soils.
