Booster Stations
Booster Pump Stations
A long discharge distance behind your dredger can be bridged easily. By adding a sand pump station, the dredged mixture is transferred to the spot where you need it. Booster Stations are fitted out with a highly efficient dredge pump, driven by a radiator cooled diesel engine. The containerised unit is self-supporting, with local and remote control and monitoring. Booster pump stations add flexibility and pumping power to your dredger on site.
Booster Stations fit for the job
Reliable dredge pump for slurry transport
The high efficiency booster pump is a reliable, dedicated dredge pump with no-flush mechanical shaft seal, a large ball passage and white iron wear parts. All pumps are designed by Damen’s specialist R&D team.
Remote monitoring and control
The dredge master can monitor and control the Booster Station from the dredger without leaving his seat. The entire dredge process is at his fingertips, eliminating the need for local crew attendance.
Container-sized for practical transport
All booster pump stations are container-sized for easy handling, transport, and rapid on-site mobilisation. Large hatches provide access to local controls and all equipment inside the sturdy casing.
Smart power
The dredge pump, driven by a radiator-cooled Caterpillar diesel engine, offers constant power over a wide speed range and meets IMO Tier II regulations. EU Stage V NOx Emission Reduction System is optional.
Reliable, proven design
The robust Booster Stations use the same dredge pumps and drives as the dredgers they work in series with, ensuring practical maintenance with identical spares and the reliability of a proven concept.
Lifetime service
All Damen equipment, including Booster Stations, is designed for long-term use. Spare parts will remain available throughout its economic life, and our field service engineers are ready to assist.
Design flexibility
Electrical power for zero emissions
Booster Stations do not necessarily use diesel power; they can be fitted out with an electric drive as well. Plugging the relay pump unit into the local grid will offer zero emission dredging.
Floating Booster Station
A land-based booster is practical for its accessibility, yet we can easily supply floating Booster Stations as well. This is quite logical, seeing that you would want it located at the optimal distance from the main dredger.
Reducing NOx emissions
On top of a standard Booster Station, a modular Marine NOx Reduction System can be built. The additional system is IMO Tier II and EU Stage V compliant.
